The Youth Leadership Series (YLS) is an annual youth empowerment series organised by Stanbic IBTC targeted at equipping the Nigerian youth populace with the right knowledge and skills to succeed in life.

Youth Leadership Series (YLS)

Now in its 6th edition and organised by Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC, The Youth Leadership Series is an event designed to educate the youths on opportunities ranging from Finance, FinTech, Entertainment to Entrepreneurship.

ABOUT THE Youth Leadership Series

The Youth Leadership series is an educational event open to students of Nigerian universities, entrepreneurs and young Gen Zs and millenials. The YLS was birthed as an avenue to engage and empower young Nigerians into becoming future business leaders. At the 2022 edition of the YLS, Dr Demola Sogunle, the CE of Stanbic IBTC  Holdings had this to say about the YLS:  “ At Stanbic IBTC, we recognise the youths are the leaders of tomorrow, and we are conversant with their needs. We thus created this platform to sensitize youths to imbibe a solution-oriented mindset. Not only to position them to think outside the box but also help them proffer solutions that will enhance the economy. We are pleased that the 2022 edition of the YLS engaged young Nigerians, and thereby set them on the path to self-discovery”.

YLS PANEL SESSION 1

The theme for the first panel session at the 2023 YLS is: Power your business, Get your customers hooked.

Speakers  include:

  • Annie  Uzoka popularly known as Chef Annie- Head Chef and Co-founder at Gourmet Twist, an online retail bakery and food store.  
  • Sandrah Tubobereni- Fashion designer and lead creative director at the luxury fashion brand TUBO.
  • Williams Fatayo - CEO and Cofounder at TruQ , a third-party logistics startup  facilitating seamless deliveries across Africa.
  • Temitope Onisarotu -  Founder and CEO at Erilyin by Temitope. She is also the Corporate and Investment banking Marketing Manger at Stanbic IBTC Holdings.

The theme for the second panel session at YLS 2023 is : Dream Job? …A myth or reality?

The speakers include:

  • Dr Buogo Obi- Oloketuyi - Medical doctor by training and now the Managing Director of a carpentry company Wooddesignes.
  • Derin Philips  popularly known as DJ Caise-  Graduate of Finance from the prestigious Reading University in the United Kingdom and CEO at C.M. Entertainment Limited.
  • Engr Oyewale Oyesiji -  a Masters Holder from the Obafemi Awolowo University and an automobile diagnostic engineer at Taflad Automobile Company, Osogbo.
  • Ivie Temitayo-Ibitoye -  Head of Employee Relations at Sahara Group .
