Stanbic IBTC Head Office wins second award
Stanbic IBTC Head Office in Lagos, Nigeria, has won the Best Commercial Office Development award at the API Summit, it’s second award after receiving the 2024 SAPOA Property Development Awards for Innovative Excellence, winner of the International Development Award.
The Stanbic IBTC Towers is the new flagship head office for Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers Limited, a member of Standard Bank Group, in the diplomatic enclave overlooking Cowrie Creek, Victoria Island, Nigeria, strategically positioned along key arterials linking it to Lagos Island, Ikoyi and Lekki, contributing to the Lagos skyline.
The architecture adopts clean angular forms, framed with large-scale elements while the façade is a combination of louvres and unitised curtain wall.
A dedicated lifestyle floor improves employees’ work-life balance, housing a gym, crèche, mother’s room, and a wellness centre.
The carpark building was post-tensioned slab while the office building was a flat slab system. The fit-out works commenced early on with the procurement of long lead items to mitigate the associated risks, and the overall project (base build and fit-out works) was concluded in November 2023.
Environmental sustainability and health & safety was at the forefront of this project’s objectives as evidenced by the safety record of 2.6M manhours at completion without any Loss Time Injury, achieving 4-star rating for design, being the first new building project in Nigeria registered and certified with GBCSA.
